Worth having them check the high pressure fuel pump and the crank position sensor too, and take a look at the battery voltage and alternator output. A dying alternator can make the engine shudder and cut out with no warning light on some of these. Also pull the fuse box and check for anything cooked by heat soak.

Did it restart at all after it cut out, or is it completely dead when you turn the key? Does it crank normally? Also curious whether you filled up recently at a different station than usual, since bad fuel can cause exactly this kind of sudden shudder and stall.
