Maserati Levante suspension creak

Maserati Levante suspension creak – dealer or indie workshop in Dubai?

I've had my Levante for about three years and lately there's this annoying creaking sound from the rear when going over dips, almost like an old wooden bed frame. The dealer says it's probably the sway bar bushings but they want to replace the whole rear suspension arms just to be safe, which feels like overkill to me. I'm thinking of taking it to a proper Maserati Suspension Workshop Dubai that actually sees these cars daily and might just lubricate or replace the bushings for a fraction of the cost. Has anyone here gone the independent route for suspension noise on a Levante or Ghibli? I'm worried about the electronics in the Skyhook system – do these indies have the right tools to avoid triggering warning lights after taking things apart? Also not sure if aftermarket bushings are any good or if I should insist on genuine parts. Would love to hear real experiences before I decide which way to go.

Sway bar bushing creaks over dips are super common, especially in heat. Sometimes it's just dry rubber and a bit of silicone grease stops it for a few weeks. Replacing whole rear arms for a noise nobody has pinpointed yet sounds like a parts-cannon approach to me.

Took my Ghibli to an indie for a clunk last year and they found worn end links, not the arms the dealer pushed. Cost me a fraction of the quote. Just ask them to put it on the lift and show you the play before anything gets replaced.

Skyhook doesn't care about bushings, it only cares about sensors and the dampers themselves. Unless they unplug a height sensor or disturb the link rods, there's no reason a warning light should come on. Worst case they clear it with a scan tool after the job.

Not convinced an indie is automatically the cheaper answer. If they misdiagnose it, you pay for the wrong part and then pay again at the dealer. Genuine bushings usually last longer on these cars, and aftermarket polyurethane tends to bring its own squeaks.

Does the creak happen cold, or only after the car's warmed up? And is it only over dips, or also when turning in slowly? That would help tell if it's the sway bar bushings or something like the upper arm joints.
